Built on one
founder's vision.

In 1960, Natvarlal Umedram Kachiwala started Lami in Surat with a single conviction: that decorative trims should be designed and made to a standard the world would notice. What began as a humble weaving operation grew, generation by generation, into one of India's most respected trim manufacturers.

"Trims are not secondary details — they shape how a product is seen, felt, and remembered."

Today, Lami is led by the third generation of the founding family. The business has scaled significantly, but the founding principle remains unchanged: design-led quality, built for lasting partnerships. We don't chase volume for its own sake. We build relationships with buyers who value precision, reliability, and a supplier that thinks like a design partner.

Our facility in Surat houses advanced looms, embroidery machines, braiding equipment, and a dedicated prototyping centre — enabling a complete trim development cycle under one roof, from concept to delivery.

Three principles.
Every order.

Design-Led Thinking

With 10,000+ proprietary designs in our vault and an in-house creation centre, we develop collections that are trend-aware, market-tested, and production-ready — not just decorative ideas.

Uncompromising Quality

Quality control is embedded at every production stage — from yarn procurement to final packaging. Every trim that leaves our facility is inspected to consistent internal standards, regardless of order size.

Long-Term Partnership

We work with buyers who value a supplier relationship built on transparency, reliability, and shared growth. Many of our international clients have been with us for over a decade.

A legacy built
over six decades.

Family-led.
Industry-experienced.

Lami is a multi-generational family business — and that continuity shapes how we work. Decisions are made by people who care about the company's long-term reputation, not quarterly targets. Our senior leadership carries decades of direct experience in textile manufacturing, design, and international trade.

Our technical team spans weaving specialists, pattern designers, quality engineers, and export coordinators — working in close collaboration to ensure every order is managed from design brief to final delivery with full accountability.

We don't outsource design, sampling, or quality control. Every stage happens in-house, giving us complete visibility and giving you a reliable, consistent outcome — order after order.
